Whats a good engine for a 2 person go-kart?

Im building a 2 person go-kart in shop but i don't know what kind or size of engine i should use. Im kinda short on cash, but i got a few friends with broken snowmobiles and 4 wheelers. And one other question, how big of a roll cage should it have and what size tires should it have?

bottom of the line would be a 3.5 horse Briggs and stratton.
excellent engine, i got a 2 seater 5 horse briggs that is 15 years old and probably around 2000 hours and still runs like new.

after 3 years of not being ran and we just changed the oil and replaced the spark plug and in one pull she fired right up.

briggs and stratton is an excellent small engine company, and a 5 horse will pull 20 mph like mine and not hurt your wallet.

i can even put up to a 12 horse on mine, but any briggs engine will work great for many years, and might outlast you.

mine don't have a roll cage, but for off road use i reccomend one with atleast 1.5" dom tubing.

and last for tires, mine are 10" road slicks that are drift kings in the rain. no bigger than a 12" for you i would think.

Good sled cover for the price

This sled cover was for a 2004 Skidoo Renegade 600. Works well so far.
I am amazed at all the straps for this cover.

Great quality

This sled cover is excellent. It's sitting on 2 different touring sleds. The only issue that I have with it is the length in back. I wish it would cover the tracks so that snow doesn't corrode them when not in use. It looks just like the picture when on. The appearance from the photo is black and white but in reality it's a light grey. I'm really happy with this purchase because it's made well and easy to put on. It won't come off in high winds either which is a plus when driving or windy days.

Buy the next size up....

I bought a medium size of this cover and it is too short. Sled is a single, older Ski-Doo with a low profile windshield so it couldn't be much smaller. Not sure what this cover would actually fit perfectly other than a kids sled. It only misses about 4 inches or so. You'd think they would add a bit extra just to cover more sleds. It is too bad as it is a really great cover, material wise, and I like the way it straps down tightly on the sled. I'll make do with it for now but will search for another brand next time because I imagine the large size cover would be way too long.
