Where can I rent a snow sled?
Im going to lake tahoe the end of feb. and I don't want to buy a snow sled. Does anyone know where I can rent sleds and how much it would cost?
A plastic sled from a discount store is less that $20. Get one when you get to Tahoe and leave it when you go. Buy truck or tractor inner tube they fold up small and fill it up when you get there. Deflate it when you leave.

Best Winter Sled to Get Performance Chip Like Power
Depending on what type of ride you are going for there are a lot of different types and styles of sleds to choose from. Here is a list of the best sled designs and shapes that will give you performance chip like power!
The Round Sled
I searched and found an updated version of this simple, round sled style that usually had two small handles on the sides to hold on to or pull up on called the Euroseld Rock’N Rip Sled. The only difference between this new update and the older and simple oval sled designs is that this one has handles that allow for more maneuverability by pulling up and out and then snapping back in place. The great thing about this design of sled is that you can place it at the top of the hill and then back up and get a running start so you can jump in the sled knees first and go flying down the hill at top speed, whirling around like a spinning top.
The Toboggan Flyer
This style of sled is fun on densely packed down snow since it otherwise is easily stuck in newly fallen, fluffy snow. The toboggan, also known as the flexible flyer sled is usually made with metal or stainless steel runners and tough wooden seats. These sleds can reach some incredible top speeds but they usually take more time to accelerate than other sleds.
Modern Aerodynamic Sleds
These sleds come in many different shapes and sizes but are often long and narrow with a pointed tip and an overall shape like a plane. Most of them are able to sit two people and have handles on each side to grip onto. These sleds are great fun and can get to some great speeds if you have someone that can push you really hard from behind. The added weight of two people can also give you a lot more speed than if you only have one person. If you are by yourself, a trick to get more speed is to run and hit the sled belly first and to keep your feet and arms up to reduce the drag.
