Matte Dragon Will this be adequate for a bearded dragon hatchling?
A 2ft glass tank (ReptileOne brand). A log to climb around and a hidey place i used for my old snake. I have a heat mat installed. Will it be alright for him if i just get a UV nightlight and have that on all the time? He will be indoors.
I'm aware that 2ft will not fit an adult, but it'll do until i can afford a bigger one won't it?
Hey, You wont need the heat mat but you should provide a basking area with a daytime temperature between 35-43C (95-110F) the cool end of the vivarium should be in the range of 26-30C (80-85F). During the night the temperature should drop no lower than 16C (60F), most house temperatures don’t drop below this, but if yours does, use a heat mat on the warm side of the vivarium. UV light must be used to help Bearded Dragons obtain the Vitamin D-3 they require. Do not use a UV light with a percentage any lower then 5%. A normal UV lighting will do just fine compared to what you want.
Yes it will do but they grow quickly and you should be aware that they will need a full grown tank very fast in a few years time.
ok so im from the uk and have acquired a 4 year old bearded dragon, his uvb n basking light are on for 12 hours n off for 12 hours, but my question is about the heat mat temperature at night?? there is a habistat thermostat, and im wondering what this should be set at for night? or should the heat mat be set at a constand temp 24/7??
it's not really suggested to keep a heat mat in their tank but the temperature in their tank can be as low as 60 degrees. try and keep around 65 to 70 degrees.
