What's the name of the Brazilian legendary footballer who wore white surgeon's gloves during matches?
I've heard a number of the older players mention this guy, and some old people remember him and have spoken about him a number of times at this pub I go to. Brazil had a player, a midfielder I think it was, who played with white surgeon's gloves. One old guy told me he thought it was Socrates, but I did some research and watched some clips, and it turns out it was not him after all.
I know he's a doctor nowadays, like Tostao, so there's no confusion there, actually.
Don't know the answer you're looking for, but I can explain the confusion with Socrates - he played in the 1970's, and was a qualified medical doctor (and works as a doctor to this day). I don't recall ever seeing him play in white gloves, though.

What are the pros to wearing long white gloves?
Okay I got this project for school where I have to come up with a marketing campaign for long white gloves (they are satin, opera-length, regular gloves with fingers). I need to find out what the positive aspects are to wearing long white gloves. Please help! Obviously these gloves aren't going to be for wearing in cold weather. For my presentation I have to wear them, any ideas to make them pop-out more? By that I mean the rest of the outfit as well.
This is an amazing project!!! I'm so glad that you are working on this subject, especially because I'm really fond of this kind of gloves. The advantages of wearing such gloves are numerous. I always felt that women look the most beautiful and elegant when they wear gloves, they're so classy and feminine. Those gloves make you stand out of the rest of the other girls and they compliment very well a nice evening gown. Have you ever worn such gloves? I find it a true delight.
Here are some of the glove wearer's benefits:
* Gloves are considered a bright, original and attractive fashion statement.
* Quite a few men feel attracted by them.
* As they are gloves, they keep your hands and arms warm.
* Hands and nails are well protected.
* Your hands stay always clean and beautiful.
* Beautiful bracelets, rings etc. worn over the gloves stand out more bright.
* You cannot cook, clean or wash dishes, so it's naturally another one's job.(that's definitely a more "humorous" reason 
)
* No need to prepare your nails.
* A better grip on holding things (good for driving etc.).
* No wet hands from transpiration.
* Skin and nails are camouflaged.(if for instance you have a disgracious scar, that's a good way to elegantly hide it)
*When you wear gloves while eating, it actually forces you to think about your eating habits. Can you eat pizza or chicken with gloves on? No. If you want to wear gloves all the time even while eating, you should get used to eating salads, fish, etc. That's a good thing for you and your diet!
(* Your nails cannot hurt someone else (your lover ...). )
To make your gloves pop-out more I had thought of a nice bracelet but I'm wondering whether it won't result in damaging your gloves. You should try and see. Maybe that you will have a good result with a golden bracelet. But actually the first to do is to make sure to get gloves that are made of shinning satin (so no mate satin gloves).
