I need help figuring out what is wrong with it.It will start but it will die as soon as Iet off the throttle, it runs as if it was running out of gas, and it runs very ruff and makes a baffling sound out of the exhaust.Somebody told me to clean the carbs and somebody else told me to flush the gas out of it,but I wanted to know what else it could or might be so I can start the process of elimintion.I do not want to take it to a shop because it costs to much and is funner to fix myself. Thank you for your help.
check the spark plugs first. If they are fouled from ( wrong oil/gas mix) then there is your problem. if not it sounds as if your pilot jet is cloged, you will need an air compressor to clean out the carb/s
you can however remove the air screw and shoot some carb cleaner through it and drain the bowl. see what you have in the bowl. drain the carb into a container and see whats in the gas ( sand/water/rust/ whatever,) but a carb cleaning wont hurt
can i use arctic cat apv oil in my 98 ski doo mxz?
Yes, you can use Arctic Cat oil in you Ski Doo. All the snowmobile oils basically contain the same ingredients, they all flow at low temps., all contain anti-scuff agents and high speed protection.
Plus, that Ski Doo will probably be faster now with the Cat oil in it...LOL
Skidoo Brp How come they don't make 2 stroke dirtbikes anymore?
How come only 2 of the big four Dirtbike manufactures make 2 strokes. I really don't like 4 strokes it just costs to much to maintain. The argument that it isn't fuel efficient is BS because look at BRP's skidoo ETEC snowmobiles! They are two stroke and they use the same amount of gas as the four strokes. I race motorcross and I keep seeing people with 250f an 450f with blown up motors! It costs wayyy more to rebuild one of those compared to a 2 stroke. I have a 2007 cr 125 and I want to stay with honda. I also still have my cr 85 and I have a Honda foreman atv. I have never ha any real big problems with any of them. I want a 2011 cr 125, why don't they make them?
I know you have to mix the gas and oil. I do it every time on my bike! I don't think that's the reason though!

The main Japanese manufacturers convinced the American Motorcycle Association to enact the "4-stroke rule". This gives the advantage to 4-strokes over 2-strokes in racing. Why did the AMA cave? No one is really giving a straight answer.
Until the AMA changes the 4-stroke ruling, 4-strokes will dominate racing. What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday.
Motorcycle manufactures are corporations. Corporations are only after one thing, money. They have to keep showing a profit to their stock holders. So why would a corporation only promote and make 4-strokes? Because it is increasing there bottom line. They make more money off of selling 4-strokes and the 4-stroke parts. Plus the average guy can't do an engine rebuild. This means they have to take the bike in to get it serviced. More money for the bottom line.
If the AMA rescinded the 4-stroke rule, 2-strokes would once again dominate motocross.
"Climate gate" brought to light that global warming is a farce.
Global warming is needed for the new carbon tax. Without global warming, there can be no tax. So when I hear someone say that the internal combustion engine is the biggest polluter on earth and has to go, it upsets me that they haven't done there research and are just spouting what the main stream media feeds them.
Sorry about that, almost got off track...lol
I love 2-strokes. I own 4 of them. I also own a 4-stroke enduro for daily transportation.
